Copyright
information you need to know
When having
your band recorded, it is important to remember
that copyright plays a large part of what
you can do with the recording, after it
is produced into something you can sell
at either gigs, record stores or anywhere
else for that matter.
This copyright
does not relate to music that your or your
band have composed (as you own the copyright),
but covers songs you may play in your sets,
where the composer of the song has not been
deceased for 50 years or more.
Below is some
documentation about copyright including
forms you can fill out and submit to AMCOS
so you can sell your recording. (These files
are PDF files and require adobe acrobat
to read them)
Audio
manufacture licence application guide
(PDF 256KB)
Audio
manufacture licence application (PDF
433KB)
Music
copyright for schools information form
(PDF 1.23Mb)
For
more information go to the AMCOS website
http://www.amcos.com.au
and browse the information relevant
to your needs there.
We
can fill out any forms and submit them on
your behalf, but it is up to the band that
is selling the music recordings to pay for
copyright costs if applicable.
